Term 5 week 4
This week in year two we have had a great time keeping our plants alive, investigating the school layout and working on our ball skills.
In English, we have been looking at our new book ‘Someone Swallowed Stanley’ by Sarah Roberts. We have drawn story maps and learnt different action to help us remember the story. Then we learnt about similes and used then in our writing to describe a character from the book.
During Maths, we have continued to look at time and focused mostly on telling time to five-minute intervals remembering the difference between past and to. On Friday, we moved onto money, ensuring we could recognise all the coins and notes and how much they were worth. Then we looked at adding amounts of money together. Next week will we continue to look at money.
In science, this week we have look at different trees and how they change during the seasons. We looked at deciduous trees and evergreen trees comparing them and how they are different to each other during different seasons.
This week for geography we have continued to look at maps and started to look at the layout of the school as next week we will be drawing a map of the school.
In PE this week we have continued to develop our ball skills and this will continue into next week. We played some great games and the lots of the children are really developing their rolling and dribbling/kicking skills. Also we have continued to enjoy having Mr Bridgeman.
