This week in Y2 we had lots of fun writing our innovated stories based on the book Jack and the Jelly Bean Stalk. The children had some fantastic ideas and the stories were brilliant. We are continuing to work hard on our joined up handwriting and being able to spell all the Y2 common exception words. In Maths this week we revised counting in 2s. 5s and 10s and applied this to help us with our multiplication facts for the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Please continue to help your children learn their 2, 5 and 10 times tables. It is really important that they have a rapid recall of multiplication facts for these times tables.
In science we looked at a variety of habitats and how animals are suited to the environment in which they live.
We also celebrated World Poetry Day on Friday. We looked at a poem called ‘Who is looking at the moon tonight?’ by Brenda Williams. We looked at the rhyming words and thought of some actions for the words. The children worked in groups to act out the poem. The children looked fabulous dressed up as heroes for Red Nose Day.
Thank you for all your support.
