Year 2 have certainly hit the ground running this term. We have loved seeing all of your hard work posted on Purple Mash.
In English we have started work based on ‘Grendel A Cautionary Tale about Chocolate’ by David Lucas. For our introduction to writing we recapped how to use subordinating conjunctions effectively. We wrote letters to Grendel warning him to use his wishes carefully. Through the reading task we thought carefully about our own wishes, ensuring that we used them wisely.
In Maths we recapped the properties of 2D and 3D shapes. The children have had fun becoming shape detectives and searching for shapes around their homes. They have also been very busy constructing 3D shapes out of a variety of materials including uncooked spaghetti.
The home learning project is based on food, already we have seen some delicious pizzas and cakes. One of the tasks is to learn how to juggle with a variety of fruits!
Once again, thank you for your support and please remember you are doing a fantastic job.
