Year One enjoyed dressing up for Comic Relief and taking part in poetry day!

On Friday, Year One enjoyed dressing up for Comic Relief and taking part in poetry day! Everyone looked so fantastic in their hero costumes. We had a mix of superheroes and real life heroes such as nurses and police officers. Some people in their own clothes which is very fitting as over the last year all our children have been heroes! We wrote class poems about heroes and drew pictures of our favourite heroes to go with it. Who is your favourite superhero?

As part of our poetry day we read, discussed and performed the poem 'Who is Looking at the Moon Tonight?' by Brenda Williams. The children used collaging, painting and printing to make their own paper plate moons. We also wrote a class Spring poem based on our Spring welly walk around school. Perhaps you and your family can share some poems together and pick your favourites!
