Our Reception children were delighted to welcome their parents and carers to our recent Phonics Breakfast, a special event designed to celebrate early reading and learning together.
Families enjoyed sharing breakfast with their children before taking part in a range of fun and engaging phonics games and activities. The event provided an opportunity for parents and carers to see first-hand how phonics is taught in school and how the skills learnt in the classroom support children as they develop into confident readers.
It was wonderful to see the children enthusiastically demonstrating their phonics knowledge, including recognising sounds, blending words and reading simple texts. They were proud to showcase what they have been learning, and it was fantastic to see families joining in and supporting their children's learning through play-based activities.
The morning was filled with enthusiasm, learning and lots of smiles, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone involved. Events such as these help to strengthen the partnership between home and school, enabling families to feel more confident in supporting their child's reading journey.
We would like to thank all the parents and carers who joined us and helped make the event such a success. We look forward to welcoming our families to more learning events throughout the year.
