We have had a fantastic start to Term 4 thanks to the Platform organisation. On the last day of term 3, Platform visited school and did a rail safety workshop with the children. The children learnt about how fast a train can travel and how it stops. They also learnt about the different jobs at the train station. On our first day back, we were lucky to travel to Bristol Temple meads on the train. While we were at the station we played an 'I spy...' activity looking for different things including the yellow safety line, the ticket office and the dispatcher. We completed our visit of Temple Mead with a look at the statue of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
To complete our hook day, we read the story of Paddington Bear and learnt about what he was like inside and out. Finally, we made his favourite food - marmalade sandwiches. Most of us thought they were delicious!
